Broken pedistal RR mount, am I the only one?

About a week or two ago I was tearing down the motor and I noticed that one of the pedistal mounts was broken in two. Might have also been the reason for the rough running. I though it was because of the nut that fell into the lower intake that I did not know about until it was too late. Well, the nut was shattered and did no harm to the piston or the head, and the RR pedistal that was broken wasn't the cylinder where the nut broke. Called Crane Cams and ordered some new pedistals, the whole set for $11!!! Has this happened to anyone else.

Pedestals

I have broken many of the stock bolts off in the pedestals on my old GT40 heads. I ended up tapping the 5/16 holes out to 3/8 and machining the rockers out for socket head cap screws. Never broke another.

pedestal rockers are pretty weak, that's why most aftermarket heads are set up for stud mounted rockers. **** can 'em.

Well, if the bolt broke I would understand that but it was the stand part that the roller rocker sits on that you put shims under.

you might want to check and see if the valvetrain/pushrod/rocker geometry is correct, or maybe it was bolted on too tight or needs another shim under it. while you're in there you should still upgrade to stud mounted rockers though...
