I bought a 92 LX 5.0 and the previous owner crushed the crap out of the drivers seat... The foam is crushed and the back rest part of the seat twists the right. Its been one month and my back is really killing me cause of it. The car has the GT style upholstry.. not the 4 banger style.

Does any one here know If i can use a 4 banger seat frame and install new gt style foam and oringal fabric off my car onto it... Ive welded the seat frame but its just to worn out and sloppy. the welds did help but not enough. Anyone here ever taken apart a 87-93 seat? im curious how the head rest comes off.

I really like the factory seats, I do not want to put huge racing seats in it.
I hate driving the car cause it really hurts the back.

Fox seats should be easy to come by. I just took an 83 seat apart, and getting the headrest out is sort of a pain. Do a search.

Essentially, iirc, you take a thin metal strip and slide it down the head rest support so that it blocks the adjuster tab out of the vertical support, allowing it to slide up. I cut a piece of metal valley flashing from Lowes and it worked.

Unless you are hung up on the fox sport buckets, sn95 and new edge seats bolt right in, and in my area, are cheaper than decent tweed fox seats.
