GOT IN A HURRY, MUST HAVE CROSS THREADED LUG NUT. WHEN I TRIED TO REMOVE THE LUGNUT IT WOULDNT BUDGE. FINALLY IT BROKE, MY QUESTION IS CAN I JUST TAKE THE ROTOR OFF AND KNOCK THE STUD OUT, AND REPLACE A NEW ONE OR HOW CAN THIS BE DONE?

ALSO WHILE IM AT IT, I HAVE A NOISE FROM MY RIGHT REAR BRAKES. WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKES I HEAR A SORT OF CLICKING NOISE, IT SLOWS DOWN WITH THE ROTATION OF THE TIRE. CHECKED PADS SEEM TO BE FINE, ITS NOT A REAL NOTICEABLE NOISE, JUST WONDERING IF SLOTTED ROTORS MAKE A LITTLE NOISE???

I had the same problem when my local NTB cross threaded a lug when installing my rim back on.
I just took off the wheel and punched the old one through with a metal punch and a hammer.
Then I went to Ford and bought another stud and knocked it back through from the back of the rotor with a hammer and punch. Just move the rotor around until you can get a clear space to see the hole. It's really simple and will just take a couple of minutes to remove and install.

My CD/SL rotors make a hissing noise and it is due to the slots cleaning the rotors for a clean braking surface. You will also hear that it is the gasses being the sound as well. :nice:

JR is right. I have had the same thing happen. New studs are cheap and install with relative ease. The only thing that does get in the way is the ABS sensor. You will more than likely NOT be bale to hammer it all the way in. If this happens you may have to such it in with a nut, but do it carefully as to not strip out your new wheel stud.

:OT:
JR, welcome to the board buddy! Will I see you at Carlisle this year?. I will be there with my car and my new wheels, then I'm going to head up to Maple Grove on sunday for the Motorsport Nats.

Yup, especially when you're on the highway riding beside walls and jerzee barriers. :D It freaked me out for the first couple of months also, you will get used to it.

Paul,
Its good to be communicating again in the Stang world. Having a first child will wear you out! :p I'm not sure if we will be there or not but I am making every effort to get up there this year again.
