Brother may have totalled my 98 cobra (NOW WITH CARNAGE PICS)

Just like the title says, he hydro'd it and hit a parked car at 35 MPH... The adjuster is comming to look it over thursday. It killed the hood, both fenders, radiator mount, radiator, some front accessories, both airbags deployed, broke the windsheild, and god only knows what else. I think my insurance company is going to total it out. I own it out right so i'll be getting about 10 - 12k for it, i'm also going to part the car out. I just built the rear end, and put new clutch in, and did all new springs and shocks/struts all around.

So as soon as the ins. makes up it's mind i'll know which way i'm going with it.

So what do ya all think I should sell the engine, tranny, rear end, alum driveshaft, shocks/struts, springs and interior for? It also has a magnaflow magna pack cat back on it.

On a side note, i'm thinking of throwing the engine into a sand rail, I have a buggy works frame, with everything accept the engine and tranny, I know the tranny will not work in it, due to being a mid engine, I can get a tranny no problem. Just a thought, of course this all depends on what the ins. does with the car.

Was the rear narrowed at all, or just built?

Damn! One post about "I hope your brother is ok". (And it was the 5th post!) Since you didn't mention it, I assume he is. This is why I don't let ANYONE drive my car.

I say that you should find a nice straight clean 3.8 car (of course, a 94-98) and drop all your good stuff into it. I would make him buy the 6 cyl car for you. (Or, at least, pull the parts off the Cobra.)

Good luck with the ins co.

I gave this car to him, he was paying me monthly on it. The whole car is black, including interior.
When I say built rear I mean, new double hardened axles, 4:10's all new bearings, and a eaton diff, with a trick flow aluminum diff cover. Literally has 2k miles on it. Door panels are up for grabs, I just want the door cups. The driveshaft may already be spoken for.
I'm not going to put this stuff into a v6 car, I just dont want to spend the time and effort. I'll know more on friday. As for my brother, he's fine, nice shiner from the airbag though... i'll let ya all know if it gets totalled out, if so i'll give ya all great deals on stuff.

Air bags deploy 99% of the time it is a total.

Good luck getting what its worth and glad your brother is ok...at least from the accident whatever "happend" after, that you did to him is your business.

I would say get a 4cyl notch LX but either way good luck.

Yes, I noticed this. Let me remind everyone, just because the car may be totaled and he’s mentioning he might be parting it out, doesn't mean you can turn it into a free for all "pick n pull" ad.

WHITE94COBRA, if/when you're ready to list your parts, please do so locally within the Forum or National Classifieds. Don't start auctioning off parts in your own Talk thread; otherwise I’ll have to remove it.

For those of you who can't wait till then, send him a PM. That's what they're there for.

Otherwise, hope everything turns out well for you and your bro.

Will do It was more for me to vent and try to figure some things out. If it gets totalled i'll let everyone know. More than likely you will see this in the classifieds, besides the pm's.
