Alright guys..I have been part of the 4.6 talk for many of years so hopefully you guys aren't too hard on me for posting this here; but it is where I still consider home

I brought my GT to the track tonight hoping to improve on my 12.82 run that I had made last week. There was a bad crosswind last Friday (which carried to Saturday when we were at Texas Mile) so I was REALLY hoping to get a 12.7x pass tonight.

Here is a picture of the car earlier in the day and as it was ran. Stock 18 inch tires of which I didn't even touch the air pressure. Dark tint makes the car faster, atleast by .05 I think My tool set is in the trunk as well as everything else so NO weight reduction whatsoever.

My first pass resulted in:
60':2.243
330':5.742
1/8:8.522 @ 89.40
1000':10.888
1/4:12.861 @ 114.38
With such a horrible 60' I knew that I was going to get my 12.7 pass later on.

I backed that up with a

60':2.147
330':5.673
1/8:8.463 @ 88.87
1000':10.844
1/4:12.827 @ 113.78
So at this time; I have met my best but I still had ran a 8.25 1/8th mile on last Sunday so still had to work on the short end of the track.

3rd pass:
60':2.065
330':5.625
1/8:8.426 @ 88.61
1000':10.813
1/4:12.801@113.62
So I missed my goal but was very close! I was hotlapping these runs as you can tell that the mph was dropping off a bit after each run It was cool down time to get my goal!

Car cooled for approx 30-40 minutes; got up there wanting to finally cut a decent 60' which has been my problem so far. I just can't seem to find that sweet spot on the car but I will get more into that at the very end of this post.
60':1.961 Finally got something going here!!
330':5.631
1/8:8.665 @84.40 and then bam..missed third :sigh:
1000':11.133
1/4:13.168 @110.17 I didn't get back into the car fully and even braked before finish.

Now here comes the good stuff
I went right back in line after my good 60' planning on getting my 12.7x pass. I got the nod to pull forward and of course there had to be a trailered car next to me that was so loud that I couldn't hear or even feel my car; I'm sure you guys that goto the track often know what I am talking about Well I did my small spin after trying to miss the water box and get staged; he did his NHRA style burnout just leaving me sitting there waiting. He finally got staged and the guys that sweep the staging area after each run began looking under his car, so I am still waiting while they inspect his car; getting more anxious after every second. They waved him off the track so I watched as he backed off and then got a solo pass. Here are the results
60':2.008
330':5.442
1/8:8.205 @89.30
1000':10.572
1/4:12.547 @114.23

I was in the right lane when I made this pass, and I usually race in the left lane since I am able to see the board with the numbers when I finish, plus it seems easier to focus on the tree like this. I was unable to see the result when I first finished and then I saw my phone light up with a text once I hit the turn off. "Holy ****! You did 12.54!" from my GF so when I got my slip, I was amazed!! I had another 2011 owner stop and talk to me right after that pass and was probably more stoked than I was I thought maybe there was a glitch in the system haha

Next pass which was the last:
60':2.062
330':5.523
1/8:8.277 @89.92
1000':10.636
1/4:12.606@114.47

I decided to call it a night after that pass. I had reached my goal, nothing broke, and I was happy leaving the track with the results.

Now I know my 60' suck so I can only imagine what is going to happen once I put my lower control arms on and put some actual tires on the car. The reason I feel that my 60' aren't that great and I missed third on the one pass....I have only been driving a standard for ONE MONTH I'm still learning and this is my third outing in the car. (2 were done in one weekend).

That is just absolutely incredible. 114+ trap speed stock...and a 12.5...

Mad props. Sounds like you got a strong running car and the driving to back it up.

The air we have out here is just amazing right now; negative DA type of air. Car would probably run 12.4s if it were an auto just simply because I suck at getting off of the line

I have never owned a standard before this vehicle so I am still getting better with each pass. If I can manage a 1.8 60' with some tires and the adjustable control arms that I have in the garage; I can only imagine what might be the result

I'd agree, you seem to have the racer mod down, 100 miles from any major town beside me. Never seen a guy driving down the highway with his helmet on out in the sticks

Great driving, D! That is simply awesome! Can't wait to what times you put up this fall/winter with a few mods. What tires are you going to run?

You know its a daily driven racecar I thought everyone drove around wearing a helmet

I knew that would be picture worthy, should make it my background

As far as tires; might try to just put some nt05rs on but at ~270 each I don't see it happening soon haha

You and me both, the toyo R888's 305/30/19's are 400 a pop each. Got them around, but can't do it right now, because carnage follows.

If your're spinning, you're not winning.

That is SICK! Congrats on that. Either your car is a freak, or the air is really that good to be getting a 114mph trap!

LS what?!?!

With a negative DA out there; I picked up 3 mph!!! The car was running REALLY well and I was just rowing the gears without a problem other than missing third on one pass.

Considering you ran .1 seconds faster than me, but at 7 mph faster, I swear I think you could get into the 11s with traction and identical conditions. 7 mph more than me is a TON. And I only cut a 1.83 60'. With tires and practice (and possibly a little suspension work), you can easily get less than that, probably in the low 1.7s without a problem. 1 tenth at the short end equals 2 at the other (or so I've always been told). 2.00-1.75=.25 in the 60'. .25*2=.5 seconds faster at the 1320 and a stock 5.0 VERY close to the 11s.

Yeah the car should easily be cutting 1.8s on the low end but I am having to baby it out of the hole, and my 1-2 shift usually has me heading sideways unless I slow the shift down haha. I just want a drag radial on this car so I can get aggressive from a dig.

The car doesn't necessarily have a problem at RPMs when launching, it just breaks loose when in the upper rpms of first gear; I need to lower the air pressure next time to see if I can work on that.

Very nice. I can't believe there are still people out there who downplay these cars. They flat out do it all!!!

Good running tonight. Told you that those tires are worth 1.6's, stock. I knew the car was capable of 11's if you hit a 1.6 and 114-115, but didn't want to tell you that. Really, great driving for such little seat time!

Maddox pulled the left front tire off the ground tonight on the 1.6 60ft pass. The air was great and HRP is a quick track. I'm guessing 11.60's with an h pipe this year.

I'll take those tires back anytime you don't need them.

I was just talking about how I would be satisfied with 11s on the street car but I don't even have a CAI or exhaust yet or any supporting suspension mods.

Guess that message I sent you last night about getting the 11 before the year was up didn't take very long.

"I'm gonna take it easy on the first launch, you know, I don't want to break on the first pass, and need to get a feel for it".

Yeah, right. when the back right end of the car squated, and you hit 2nd without bogging in first, I knew it was 11's. I kept saying, "that's it, that's it, that's it, yeah!!!!"

New tread in OT(the wheel), or I will just start one with "5.0 results", and leave it blank if you don't!
