ok, ill try to keep this as simple as possible.

i left a full time, permanent job to work at my current employer. i was hired as a full time employee. the first 2 weeks i put in alot of hours as expected.

then since the beginning of the third week, up until this week have been much different. ive worked a total of 4 days out of the last 14 work days. my check now is going to be so small, i had to sell some parts i bought for the cobra to make sure i had the cash for my expenses.

ive talked to the "supervisor" and i just get some random bs how i need to hang in there. what happened is, they hired too many people. so there isint enough work for everyone.

there were 3 new people hired, each day NONE of us new guys work except the few days i worked. what would you guys do?

hopefully you still have good relations with your previous boss.

at least start searching for an alternative now so your not left out to dry if this continues and you end up totally screwed.

bottom line... start the search.

yeah i already have started looking.

problem is, i waited months for this job. i like the work also, and the money is really good. i dont really want to leave, but im kind of left without an option.

working 4-6 days a month is bull**** for a so called fulltime position.

guess ill go out and put in some applications tomorrow. not really what i had planned on doing a month into this job

did you sign a contract with this company? If so they should* have stated that you are being offered a "Full-Time" position and are garanteed XX-hrs/week.

If not, you know what you gotta do. Sorry

Put on a USPS uniform, load up the ol' AK and head off to work for one last day of hunting the most dangerous game.

Hope you didn't burn any bridges when you left the last place.

a few options i would consider

i hear Mcdonalds has a few openings and they serve billions so i think you will get plenty of work.

or you can threaten or rough up some of your co-workers to get them to quit
if you do that wear a disguise maybe of another co-worker

join the marine corps and make your fortune

prostitute yourself

do the mob thing and kill your bosses horse and put its head in his bed while hes sleeping

complain to your union now that you are in a union

sell crack like what was said earlier

suck it up and when you do get to work be arrogant show off say really big words and do really good work

or do the office space thing and just don't even go or set the builing on fire

i would do something

Back on topic, you should try and find out if there are any rules that say the minumem hours you are alowed to work per week. At my job if you're a full timer you have to work atleast 32 hours a week.

What kind of work do you do? Employers can tell you anything they want and then screw you once you're on board, UNLESS you have something in writing.

It's capitalism at it's finest.

Go to the union steward and ask him whats up. You do have a contract so get a copy and see what it says. You should have already gotten one anyway when you started.

I also agree with filng for unemployment. Fill out the hours worked and they prorate any hours you work against your benefit claim. At least you will get some of you money from the deal. Might make them give you more hours but most of your benefit will come from the previous employers.
