Buddy having problems with his 94 GT, help.

Ok, so the car won't start. I checked it out yesterday and the fuel pressure is fine, so is the dizzy(giving out spark to all plugs), and the starter is cranking up fine. I seriously think it's a sensor but have no clue which one it could be. What do you guys think? We couldn't even push start it!

If you have spark, the PIP and TFI are working. I would confirm that you have 12 volts going to each injector with the key-on (should be constant; the computer pulses ground to each injector to excite it).

Good luck.

I just had the same problem with my car. It would turn over, but would not start. It seemed to only do this some of the time though. I took the car to my mechanic yesterday and he replaced the ignition module. That seemed to take care of my problem. The module he replaced was located on the passenger side. I have a cold air kit and had to remove the tube connecting the mass air to the throttle body to get to the module. It was directly under the tube.

What sensor Mike? It does seem like it wants to start, it's just missing that last little uuumph.
He is talking about the PIP. And if you really do have spark at all times (even when the car runs poorly or not at all), your PIP should be fine.

I would want to reconfirm that you do have spark and injector pulsing - it sounds like you dont have one or the other.

Good luck.

Hissin, how do I check the injectors?
To check the electrics to them: put a noid light (5 bucks or less at the parts store) on a reachable injector harness connector. WHile cranking see if the light pulses. If it does, the PIP should be fine.

The injectors get a constant key-on 12 volts. The puter controls the ground. So if you see constant 12 volts, dont freak. But since the computer does not provide the ground path till needed, the noid light should not light till the car is cranking or running.

Good luck.

I had a similar problem on my 95gt. After two weeks of checking sensors I found it to be my mass air meter. No check engine light came on, but it did pull a code when I had it checked. And it came out of no where. Good Luck to your friend

I'd be looking at the pip in the dizzy. Even if your reading fire on the plug. Found out my buddies 94gt would idle semi decent, but would violently miss ...the bushing in the distributor wore out and made the trigger wheel clip the PIP sensor! crazy stuff !

the car started already but it seems to have too much gas and takes a while to start. the pickup coil in the distributor was scratched by the pick up so is that ok? car ran ok and as i accelerated there was no misfired until 4500 rpms, but when i came to a frequent stop it was idleling at about 2000rpms. help please!
