Here I am going to post my build log for my car. I bought this coupe 2 years ago after i was rear-ended in my red coupe. Long story short, insurance screwed me over and wouldn't fork over enough money to get it fixed, so i decided to just buy a new project.

I bought a rolling shell for $2000, and quickly gutted and sold just about everything in the car. My plans were to rebuild it mostly stock, with a few upgrades to suspension and the engine. Having the car for 2 years has, however, changed my plans. It has been a very complex evolution from what my original plans were as I have been shopping for parts and such for so long. If a good deal came up on craigslist/ebay etc. I'd snag it.

Feel free to ask questions or request more pictures! i'll keep updating this as i go

So far, my current plan for the car is this:

BODY
Shelby GT350 hood
Shelby valance (with bumper)
Shelby Deck Lid

ENGINE & DRIVETRAIN
1991 Mustang GT 5.0
EFI w/ Aeromotive fuel system (pump, filter, -8AN stainless lines, rails, regulator)
AOD
A/C
P/S

SUSPENSION
Full rollerized front suspension (UCA, LCA, spring perch, idler arm)
620 1" lowering springs
New steering box (undecided on brand)
reverse-eye leaf springs
narrowed rear end

INTERIOR
Leather seats from a 2001 mustang
rear interior panels, door panels, dash, and center console from a 2001 mustang
touchscreen/carputer
heater/ac from the 2001

As it sits now, I've finished my motor, transmission, fuel system, front suspension and steering (minus the box), patched the floor pans and removed seat risers, cleaned and undercoated fender wells, some interior fabrication, and a few odds and ends.

here are some pics! lots more to come with continued progress.

That's a very ambitious project you have there, congrats on being different! Would be interested to see more pics and description on how you fit the dash, door panels and rear seat/interior panels. I'm sure that stuff didn't just happen to fit ;-)

i haven't done anything to the dash yet, i just propped it up to see how it's going to look. i can take some pics of the rear panels and the rear seats. the door panel was a whole lot of trial and error, and i think i can do a much better job on the passenger's side. the dash is going to need about 3/4 of an inch cut off the sides to make it fit, then i need to match the radius of the window and cut the dash to fit. there is a lot that needs to be figured out as far as everything under the dash goes as well. but i'll keep updating as i go!
