Eric,
I ship a lot to the great white north and I know about those "tariffs"...
What I'm trying to convey is when on a budget, look for "deals", not just cheap. What at first appears to be a good direction to go (keeping those mismatched parts) is really not a good use of your money.
Try searching on various forums for a nice set of used aftermarket heads. For what it will cost you to rehash stock heads, you can peddle them, add a few extra bucks and get a set of aftermarket aluminum heads. You'll also be removing 40 pounds off the nose of the car as well as adding a lot more HP to the combo. That's why I said grab some used TFS Twisted Wedges through the classifieds.
Same holds true for other items. Maybe swap the E cam with a 302 guy who stuffed too big of a camshaft in his engine. With the mis-information prevelant on the internet, I'm sure somebody stuck a TFS Stage 3 or Comp 282 cam in their 302 and saw horrible results. Things like that would work much better for you than for them so offer the E cam as a swap.
There's another old cliche' that states...
"Why is it you never have the money to do it right, yet always find that money to do it over"
Look for deals before you buy.
