I have a buddy that is building a 69' 351W and is wondering on a cam, intake, headers, and maybe some heads. What do you guys suggest works best together? This is new to me so I told him I would do a little research for him. What kind of power can he make with a H/C setup? I forgot to mention that this car will just me a weekend driver, not a strip car.

Thanks in advance for your help

Tell him to get some Canfield 192 heads from www.camshaftinnovations.com Jay Allen is the guy who runs that, he is a custom cam maker who made my cam and sold me heads.

They are killer and cost me $1195.00 with GOOD parts.

1: world products windsor sr heads

2: comp cams xe262h

3: performer rpm or weiand stealth intake

4: 750cfm edelbrock carb

5: long tube headers with 1 5/8" tubes.

this will be a healthy combo pushing about 400hp, yet still be drivable enough for a daily driver if needed. should make decent fuel economy as well.

Maybe it's just me but a 750 eddy is a bit much for a 351w. I'm running a 600cfm manual choke and it handles it nicely. I have the xe262h also.

Those world heads are not very good flowing.

Also, I ran a 800cfm wet flow carb on my 351w....it ran wicked, so a 750 is not too big.

BUT, I would get a street avenger by holley over the edelbrock.

world heads

yeah, what's the deal with those world heads?
they power their 460 small block, but i think they've been ported and new internals installed. it looks like they have good potential though

the world products heads flow just fine. personally i am going to use the jr heads on the 351w i am building for my mustang. they have the same port size as the edelbrock performer rpm heads.
