i want to build a 302 with about 500-600 hp. ive heard that the stock block cant handle that much power very well so i was wondering if u guys can help.
what block would be good? i was planning on putting a 347 stroker in it, and get the holly H/I/C kit (port and polish the heads and port the intake) along with all this i was either going twin turbo or a vortec S/C. anything else i would need with this set up to reach my goal?

You're right, a stock block will not be able to handle that much power reliably. For that much power you will need a 4-bolt main block ie: A4, dart, boss 302, ect. A good forged bottom end and 4 bolt block will make about as much power as you'd ever want, depending on how much $$$ you have to throw away for parts. I'd go turbo with it was well, but thats just me.
