First they told me it would be shipped on the 10th of this month then they said the 12th so I get a letter today saying it will be the 28th now!!!!

So I call Summit and ask them why the 28th now and they tell me it is actually going to be more like around the 15th of next month!!!!!!!!!!

This won't do at all!!!!

I am a very impatient and can wait no longer, My biggest fear is that the 15th of june will come and they will send me another letter moving it back again.

What should I do???

Wait for the Bullitt kit or spend more money and get a different suspension kit now????

I already called them, More money and delivery date is the same.

I was thinking about changing my order to the KYB AGX adjustable shocks and struts and the Ford motorsports C springs, Only problem is it will run me another $140.00 dollars!!!

Does that sound like a good combo or should I wait for the Bullitt kit and save a load of cash???

Donny,

Please let us know if you found someone who has the Bullitt Kit in stock. I'm looking to purchase the same kit early next week. I'm assuming you're getting the kit that has shocks, struts, springs, AND swaybars.

Thanks.

How much was the kit from Summit? www.mustangparts.com is selling the Bullitt kits for $399 and I think they are in stock.

Gene Evans Ford (gefracing.com) is very local to me and I don't want to pay shipping charges. I've seen some charge well over $100 for shipping the Bullitt suspension kit!

I want to save as much as I can, so if anyone knows of a place that offers low cost shipping, that would be helpful to others as well.

Thanks.

Sorry fellas,
I have tryed all those places( Gene Evans Ford, www.mustangparts.com, www.maximummotorsports.com and many others) and and it was the same answer from them all, That it would be on backorder for at least a month!

I payed $420 for the kit and Summit don't charge for shipping.

Most places were cheaper but they wanted $50 to $90 dollars to ship it and it would cost way more in the long run, Summit just can't be beat!!!!!

I have been waiting to get the Bullitt suspension order but the delivery has slipped back a bit at all the places I've asked. Based upon the dates for availability posted here and elsewhere I called the FRPP Tech Line today and they told me that the M5400A handling kit is listed as being on backorder until June 30th but this was seen as a "soft" date because it was the last day of the month. A more believable "hard" date would have been something like June 24th

I have been considering just buying the individual Bullitt parts from my local Ford dealer directly but was concerned about the cost difference unless I gave up on the sway bars. When I asked FRPP about the difference between the sway bars on my stock 01 GT and the ones in the M5400A kit I was told the Bullitt sway bars were a bit smaller but also a bit stiffer. When pressed about whether the difference was noticeable I was told that it was very slight and unless I was racing I wouldn't be able to notice the difference.

Based on all this I placed an order today and will have my suspension on Friday instead of sometime in July. FWIW the Ford part numbers for the Bullitt parts I ordered are

Front springs 1r3z5310ca
Rear springs 1r3z5560aa
Front struts aa602
Rear shocks aa606

For those that are willing to wait the www.stangstore.com had the best price I was able to find on the web for the M5400A handling kit.

You should look through the classifieds on corral. I'm piecing together suspension parts that will be much better than the bullitt kit but cost me almost the same amount as the bullitt kit costs. I got a set of used Koni adjustable shocks and struts for $175, that would cost $600+ if I bought them new. I'm looking for good deals on springs and caster-camber plates now.
