i am about to purchase a bumpsteer kit and was wondering if they are as strong as a normal tie rod end seeing as they have a long bar or bolt betwwen end and knuckle.are they safe for road racing and street duty?

Where else would you need one? If you hit a bump or pot hole and suddenly find yourself looking at the nearest roadside tree, a bumpsteer kit is the way to go. I've driven mustangs and other cars that scared me to death on a bumpy and twisty road. Throw in a tubular k-member and g-load brace, maybe a heavier front sway bar (if you're into road racing) and you're all set.

most kits come with straight bolts and they tell you to drill the spindle which I dont like. steeda's kit you dont have to drill them out, they supply a tapered stud which fits right in, and the price is decent. yes there are strong and safe for street and race. I got the steeda kit on my unit.
