i recently bought a 99-01 cobra bumper for my 04 mustang.
The bumper i bought has a few scratches and the paint is cracking(its painted black). My question is can i strip the paint or should i try to sand and buff the scratches and have a body shop just paint over it???

what should i do?? my car is redfire metalic by the way.

If its a small section the paint shop can just prep and spray that area.

depends on how old and color depleted the paint is, sometimes its easier for a small peice to respray the whole part than try to color match older paint, but if it wouldnt match the rest of your car being as it's a new coat then i'd just sand it then use bondo on the small places

Strip it all and paint it, don't cut corners on painting...
