Well I was with my friend after school and he has a 97 Mustang GT. He wanted to adjust the timing on his car so I brought my timing light with me. We set up the timing light but couldnt find the timing mark nor the SPOUT. I have a 5.0 and its near the fender close to the air filter and the timing mark is in its usual place like any other car. Weve been trying to find them since the afternoon but it isnt working! We tried searching on Yahoo but nothing came up. Any help you guys?!?

1st off check your muffler bearings..and if you still cant bump the timing, go buy a Tornado type thing, it'll increase airflow and up your timing automatically.

Now what would my tire pressure have to do with my timing?

this is true....still, i say its the muffler bearings, or he should switch to synthetic blinker fluid and get 2.32 gears.

Don't mind the goofballs....Come on guys...not everyone knows everything.

The 4.6 cannot be adjusted without an aftermarket timing adjuster.

Example:

you cant change the timing on a 4.6 without a timing adjuster, like steedas or bbk, the timing is all done by computer.

i really dont know either. how would someone go about doing this? are the 97 gts set up like my 03? with the COP? or distributer? cuz if its like distributer style then read on, if not then dissregard this post entirely

u prolly just chose the wrong spark plug wire. try another one. and it is in the same place. if u choose wrong wire, then u wont find the mark. try finding it in the day time with a lot of light, try using a flash light. shouldnt be too hard to find it. spout should be close to the distributer. (5.0 thinking here) but since u've done it on ur 5.0, then u prolly know as much as i do about the 97. goodluck
