I recently went with a K&N Oil Filter last oil change. After the oil changed I started the car and let it run for leaks. As I peered down beneath the car i noticed a long line of oil dripping from the K&N. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it continued to do it. I encountred this problem with K&N Filters once before a few years back when I had an 87 Trans Am. I monitored it for a few minutes and it seemed to stop.
Today I checked and my car was pretty low on oil. There doesnt appear to be any oil where i park at home.. im guessing that it's dripping out when I drive the car. Im not going for K&N anymore and Im just going to stick with the Motorcraft Filter.
Here's the real issue in Decmber, im upgrading the H/C/I with the Trickflow setup. Im guessing it's the K&N Filter that caused the leak because of what I observed. If however that wasn it and I do have an engine leak when I replace the H/C/I what should I look for? Im hopping once i upgrade and put in the new seals and what not that, that if it is the problem will solve it.
thanks
