Burning smell after changing brakes?

Hey guys,

I changed the pads, rotors, drums and shoes a few weeks ago and to this day after 30 minutes of driving you can smell a faint burning smell coming from all four corners. You can only smell it if you get real close to the tire, but it's definitely there.

Did I do something wrong? Will that smell go away? I've put less than 100 miles on the car since I changed the brakes.

usually new pads take about 200 miles to fully seat to the rotor or drum. However, I am wondering if your brakes are adjusted too tight? You might want to recheck them.

Shouldn't be any burning smell. Jack up each wheel and give them a spin - they should all spin freely. If not, check the rear drums to see if their too tight and check the calipers up front to see if they are sticking. Also did you tighten up the wheel bearings too tight up front?

Sounds like you pads are touching a little. Check and make sure your pads aren't rubbing on your rotors. Drive around for a couple of minutes, then get out and check and see if the rotors are hot. If they are and you haven't been doing any heavy braking, your pads are probably rubbing.
