Buying my first 5.0 Check out this setup. (PIC included)

Buying a 5.0 Help me and check out this setup. Its a 91 GT with just over 100 K on the body (new paint) and something like 20 K on the engine. Its got heads (not sure which ones) intake full exhaust and 3:73 gear. My main question is how do you convert to a 306. I'm assuming he bought the engine as a 306 5.0
1991 FORD MUSTANG GT, v8, 5 spd, 306 8.5:1 comp, forged internals

Sorry for being kinda dumb but if you bore an engine don't you need like larger pistons or is the bore so small that you just use different seals?

Yeah, they would use .030 over pistons.

So the bore changes the copression to 8.5:1 What kind of gains does this bring?

No, I'm pretty sure it doesn't change the compression at all.

Most of the time when an engine is rebuilt it is bored, so he probably just had it .030 over (306). That shouldn't notably affect compression. Only reason he'd have it use low comp. pistons (8.5 is lower than stock) would be if he was setting it up for a good amount of boost.
