buying a 67 coupe

Hey guys theres a 67 coupe up my street for 4,000 all orginial but in great condition. Its got a straight 6 and 3 speed manual...I really would like to buy it but i need to know if i can drop something with some true muscle in there like a ford racing 392 crate motor...I should be able to do that right???...Im thinkin if the 428 could fit in it why not a 392.

Don't ask me why but the "sticky" for a 6-to-8 swap is in the talk section, read up on it. They are right of course that a V8 Mustang had many things different on it than the motor. All suspension components and braking components were different. The transmission and rear axles as well. If you follow the pattern of many here when you build up your car with big power you'll probably be replacing that stuff anyway, EVEN IF you had V8 components to begin with, I know I did. Because of that I have an entire 289/C4/8" drivetrain sitting in my garage taking up space!
