I've got a 2000 GT with a Manual. It has a P1 S/C with a 3 core intercooler, BBK Long tubes, BBK X-pipe, Flowmaster catback, 75mm Throtle body, Diablo custom burnt chip, 42 motocraft injectors, upgraded Fuel pump.

I have 3:73s, a Dual Centerforce clutch on the way with Firewall Adjuster, Adjustable Clutch Quadrent, Throwout Bearing, and now it's down to the Flywheel. I want a lighter one than stock. I'm thinking about Billet Steel that weighs 27lbs and is a 6 bolt. I also found another that is exactly the same, but it is an 8 bolt. Can I use an 8 bolt or is better to go with a 6 bolt. The tranny is comply stock along with the internals.
I will admit I don't know anything about Flywheels and that is why I'm asking for help so let me know what I should do?
Thanks:

it depends on your crankshaft on whether you would need to get a 6 bolt or 8 bolt. i think it was the 00 model year that had both Romeo and Windsor engines in them, need to double check that though. anyhow, Romeo engines had the 6 bolt crankshaft while Windsor engines had the 8 bolt crankshaft. so really you need to find out what crankshaft you have so you know which bolt pattern to order in.

If your looking to lower rotating mass you may want to consider dropping weight from your car. The heavier flywheel actually helps distribute more torque to the tires however you give up strength and motor won't spin as fast. I've heard many complaints from people about not make a difference after installing lighter flywheel, however drop afew hundred #'s off your car and you'll get better results.

If you have an X as the 8th digit of your vin then you have a windsor 8 bolt. My 97 Gt has an X. I confirmed this from the parts guy at the Ford dealer.

Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
