Thinking of buying gears for my 04 GT. RPM Outlet has a kit w/ Motive gears , a diablosport (or sct) tuner, and an install kit. Located here http://rpmoutlet.com/newv8m.htm (option B). Curious if the install kit is adequate, as there are two options, a full, and a standard bearing kit (which comes with the package). Also, are Motive gears a reliable brand? I don't have much experience with rear ends, but I have my bro who's a professional mechanic who's going to help me out. Just curious what your thoughts are. Oh, BTW, I would be going with the 3.73s.

I bought their package with the SCT2 tuner. I got the tuner, the gears, and the bearing kit. Apparently I'm still supposed to get a set of seals, but they haven't arrived. I also ordered the replacement girdle, and it hasn't showed up, either. I think they're both on backorder, but my repeated e-mails haven't been answered, and it's making me more than a little uncomfortable.

You car prolly has low miles since it's an 04. You won't need the bearing kit if you have less than 30-40k miles. Motive is a nice brand of gears. People complain that they whine, but gears will NOT whine if they are installed correctly. I would also get the SCT tuner, not the diablosport.

I do not have any experience with rpmoutlet, but I have had Motive 4.10's for 7-8000 miles in a 5 speed now with NO ISSUES and no whine. I highly recommend them.:nice:

FWIW, I'm still having issues with RPM Outlet. I have everything except the diff cover (girdle) that I ordered. I've sent them several e-mails, but I haven't gotten a single human reply.

I've put off getting the work done until I get all the parts, but I'm getting really impatient. It's been over a month since I placed my order. Grrrrr.

The phone calls will start today.
