Can someone describe how to bypass the heater core? I noticed smoke coming from my defrost vents today while I was letting it idle. I'm certain that is what it is.. I don't really plan on driving it in the winter anyway.

Ok thanks. I haven't seen any fluid come out from the dash. I'm just assuming it is going bad because I was letting the car idle the other day for a while and I started to see smoke coming from the defrost vents. Didn't really smell anything that I don't remember.... From what I have read when you see smoke coming out the defrost vents its the heater core....

yeah thats a pretty safe bet, but i cant comment personally i dont have an HVAC box in my car

does your heat still work?
both heater core hoses equally hot?

the job is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. there is really nothing technical at all. i have done 2 of them now. first one took 5 hours roughly. second one took me 2.5 hours with hand tools.

i'll bet you wish you had it when you bypass it. i guess it would depend on what state you live in.
