run a u shaped hose or tube to connect the metal heater tubes on top of the lower intake?

its not that difficult take off the 2 hoses, then use 1 u shaped hose and connect both tubes, done.

they're different sizes but just get a hose that the larger size and hose clamps and you'll be fine
Ok thanks. I haven't seen any fluid come out from the dash. I'm just assuming it is going bad because I was letting the car idle the other day for a while and I started to see smoke coming from the defrost vents. Didn't really smell anything that I don't remember.... From what I have read when you see smoke coming out the defrost vents its the heater core....

yeah thats a pretty safe bet, but i cant comment personally i dont have an HVAC box in my car

both heater core hoses equally hot?
the job is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. there is really nothing technical at all. i have done 2 of them now. first one took 5 hours roughly. second one took me 2.5 hours with hand tools.
i'll bet you wish you had it when you bypass it. i guess it would depend on what state you live in.
