i have a 95 gt with aode is it possible to remove my worn out aode and put in a c4 without any problems,ie electronic tranny and non electronic tranny,is the computer going to give me problems, will the car run right or what will happen

any help,thanks gentlemen,Dan :bang:

Shouldn't be a problem, the C4 is non-electronic. Same would be if you put in a built AOD. Just curious though....why not just have your AOD-E rebuilt? I love my C4, but you can set-up an AOD-E to be strong and super consistent, since you can change the functions and scalars in the EEC to control it to your liking.

I believe its just different levels of line pressure that cause the transmission to shift...my aode will not have any computer control do to the PA full manual valvebody so that only leaves line pressure and me actually shifting from gear to gear.

I think he wants to know if he Engine will have any adverse effects from removing the AODE.. As in, will he get a tranny check light ( o/d off light) or a Check engine light.
will this effect how the engine runs, such as speed limiters, rev limiters, ect..
Will removing the AODE completely, unhooking all conections to it, and installing a C4 go smoothly.

help, anybody have answers about the warning lights coming on[ie] check engine overdrive off, after the swap, because the swap is happening saturday,I would like to thank everyone on this sight for all your help you guys are the greatest[mustangs rule forever]Thanks,Dan :)

I really dont know what will happen when you keep the stock auto computer in there...I will find out whenever I become unlazy and install my aode since it wont be computer controlled anymore. I have a feeling that it will toss some codes, but nothing that cant be worked out later on.

A friend of mine had a 96 auto and replaced it with a t45. the O/D light stayed on and every now and again he said the car would just shut of but it would start right back up. I don't know if it had any thing to do with the computer trying to read the auto any there not being one it would wigg out a little. maybe he had other ploblems he never fixed it he just traded the car in for a Navigator.
