Last week c-4 gave up. It is in a 89 Mustang with 2.3 turbo. I don't want to mess with this again. I am running 8ua computer, big throttle body, intercooled, big vam, 3" exhaust , ranger cam, etc. What i need is input on transmission and torque convertor to handle the power of the engine. Who can I call or website, and specs. It is not a drag car, just a daily driver for fun. If need more info let me know.

The C4 is more than strong enough to handle the 2.3, with some C4s able to handle 1000hp when built. Check our PA and some other performance tranmission sellers. As for a torque converter, again, you'll want to do some searching online (TF is a great resource) and get a custom made torque converter. However, also keep in mind that a stock rebuild with a shift kit on a C4 and a stock pinto converter should handle 300hp just fine.

Update. Got input shaft of old convertor measured and measured. .872" this is also confirmed with the crank measurement of engine in car. This confirms to a f-29 torque convertor. Out of curiousity measured a 86 turbo motor I had in garage and it measured .750. inside of crank. I understand someone over the years could have changed crank. But supplier warned me that there I could have one of these two. I thought I would past this on just incase someone else is in my situation. Be terrrible to order custom convertor and make it wrong. I am going with stock rebuild like said daily driver and will never get it over 300. Now the MGB with 2.3 turbo that might be differant. Thanks all of you for your help.
