C-Back problem

I installed Flowmaster's American Thunder c-back a couple of weekends ago and had a problem with the driver side tail pipe becoming loose and rattling against the frame where it goes over the axle. I tried adjusting and tightening the c-clamps that came with the kit, but after a couple of minutes of driving it would come loose again. So I ditched the c-clamps and bought band clamps. I thought the problem was solved but yesterday the same thing happened. I know the easy solution would be to get them welded and be done with it, but that makes it a pain in the ass to do work in that area like control arm upgrades and the like. So I was thinking of drilling some self tapping screws in with the clamps to hold the tail pipes in place. Has anyone here tried this?

if memory serves, the flowmaster cat-back systems use the clamp on the tailpipe to hang them-correct? my advice would be to take it to a muffler shop and get the hangers welded onto the mufflers a la stock style, and then the tailpipes will have less force dragging on them, therefore less chance of coming loose-then the band clamps would work better for you

I just put the same exhaust on my 93 gt and i had a little problem with the passenger tail pipe. I got my brother to help me and i lined it up made sure it wasnt hitting any thing and he tightened it. When you think you got it tight try to get it a little more and go back and fourth do each side a couple of turns thats what we did on mine and they havent come loose since that day.
