c-clip eliminators + disk brakes. Why not?

I was thinking about hardening my 8.8 rear with some new axles, differential and gears.

Got the gears. Shopping for axles and a stronger differential. My friend suggested going with c-clip eliminators for safety if possible. I am a long way from having to worry about NHRA rules, but I figured it may be good to try and cover this option if possible.

So far I have only seen axles that come with c-clips for the 8.8's with disk brakes. To further complicate matters I have ABS brakes. The write-up on the Strange axles says that their c-clip eliminator kit is not for use on disk brake equipped vehicles.

I guess I am missing the why part of this equation??? Can someone show me the light if you know?

And if it's not an option, what is the best option (minus the obvious 9-inch replacement with drum brakes).

I was checking out the 94-95 Strange axles with the c-clip in particular. If I get them I will have to upgrade to a 31-spline differential, which is probably a good idea anyway. This is obviously going to be the easiest to install, because it will work with ABS exciters, disk brakes, etc.

I am forcing myself to upgrade suspension and drive train before motor. Even though I really want to go the other way around, but I figure this will work out better in the long run.

If (scratch that - When) I get to a point where c-clip eliminators are really needed, I will probably be compelled to switch to a 9-inch rear. But that is like 5 years away probably and I have many more mods to make before I'd have horsepower and timeslips to warrant eliminators.

I'm keeping it street/strip for now. At some point I may decide to go all out. Until then I will probably keep the clips.
