Hello everyone, I was thinking of buying the C & L 85mm MAF system with the True Flow Power pipe for my 04 Mach 1. I had in the past had a very bad experience with a K&N intake sytstem. The K&N system required that I remove the MAF screen which would cause a backrush of air to run over the sensor and staling my car after a full throttle acceleration. I was just wondering if any of you had any opinions on the C & L system and if it requires the removel of the MAF screen. If anyone else would like to recomend a system the has given them 0 trouble i'd apreciate that also, thanks all, later

I had a K@N CAI and the same stalling issues also. Got rid of it. I bought the C@L system about 8 months ago and have had 0 problems with it. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. People that say it leans out the engine are only SLIGHTLY right. I had only 2 lean spots. 3,200-3,500 RPM (13.5-14.0), and 4,900 (13.4). Those were easily corrected and I actually had a rich area from 3,700-4,000. I would hardly call this the Lean Machine that people make the C@L out to be. The idle with the C@L is way better than than my K@N or even when I had the stock stuff. The response is nice, and even though I can't say what I gained HP wise with the K@N CAI, I gained 3 HP and 3 TQ on top of what the K@N gave me, which even if it was minimal, I don't care. I think it's a nice system, and I had a C@L on my '93 GT also, and had 0 problems with it also. People that knock the C@L don't know what their talking about. As far as installation, just follow the instructions. As far as I can remember, it does'nt even have a screen to begin with. One thing to note is that when you are installing it, where the MAF sensor goes, the leading right edge of the sensor plate MUST be in the 1 o'clock postion, don't ask me why but I guess it makes a difference.
