i just bought a c&L intake off ebay it cames used got it for cheap the only thing is i dont have a gasket for it. i went to kragen and they dont even have a stock gasket. will the stock gasket work with this one or do i need one made for the c&L intake? if the gasket on there is good can i reuse it? what about reuseing for for a temp then replaceing it in a couple weeks when it arives? or do i not need a gasket at all?

You don't need a gasket for mounting it to your lower intake. There is an o-ring type seal molded into the lower intake. I hope that is the info you was needing.

so are you talking about the plenum or the intake pipe? if you're talking about the plenum, just reuse the stock gasket.

ok thanks i did the install after i read that and the tb and intake work great love the extra power. the only thing is the car seems to have laggin rpms. it idles fine at 800 but when i rev it to 4000 it takes about 3-4 secs to get back down to 800 but it stops at 1200 then goes to 800 before it does. what can cause this? also i seem to have extra slack on the pedel im not sure if i had it before. the wire thats touchin the tb moves out really easy has extra slack. also when the pedel is all the way down it is at wot. does the aftermarket intake and tb cause it to hang a lil? o yea that lil black box that connects to the cold air intake and to the c&l intake when i had it off the car idled good and the hanging rpms stoped what is that black box thats between the hose? i think this might be the problem some how maybe its bad?

try disconnecting the neg. battery terminal and restetting the computer. make sure that spring is back on the throttle cable. make sure the connections on the hoses and the black box are secure. let the car idle, turn on ac and let idle for a minute, drive around a few miles with and without ac then see what happens.

ok when i installed it i had the negative unpluged. as for turning the ac on i havent touched that yet. ill try what you said. ill also check the codes maybe something will pop up. the only question though is how come when i take the black hose with the black box off the car revs fine? is that black box the electronic part of the idle? so if i removed it the electronic idle would be gone or does it play a bigger part?

i was reading on the forums and someone posted this whats the IAC line is that the black box connected between the plenum and the intake? or is it somewhere else? also could you post a pic of you could thanks

"It's called throttle hang it's caused by the IAC,

There are several posts about how to fix it.

The cheapest and easiest way is to take a1/2" copper pipe cap, drill a 1/4" hole and insert it in the IAC line. This will help drop the rpms down to about a 1000 much quicker.

Throttle hang is a common problem with TB and plenum swaps and can be solved."

i reused stock gasket for TB and didn't bother changing O-ring for the lower intake. Did rub some clean oil to O-ring tho
