C&L Plenum install help...

  • Sponsors (?)

My C&L Plenum came with instructions, I would offer to scan them, but they are at home and I am at work. It is easy, they do warn you not to drop anything in the intake , otherwise it is simple, 8-10 screws and 3 hoses.

whats wrong with these idiots not sending instructions.I just spent over $200 on a accufab throttle body and no instructions.
I'm not mechanically inclined at all, but most bolt on parts are easy as pie to install. Just unplug things, install new part, plug things back in.

Instructions really aren't needed.

I installed my plenum last week in the bitter cold. Took 20 minutes.

I don't want to beat a dead horse, but I am just getting around to install my Accufab plenum and 70mm Tb. It came together as one peice with the TB secured, attached and gasketed to the plenum. Are there any other gaskets needed or do I use gasket sealant to mount the upper plenum to the lower? What about the EGR,TPS, and IAC, do they need a gaskets or sealant? Thanks

I just reused any gaskets I found. You may want to replace them but my car's been running fine. Put plenum on 1000 miles ago.
I know IAC has a gasket, not sure what else does.

I didn't need to buy any new gaskets. The only one that they tell you to look out for is the gasket between the upper and lower intake. Just make sure you set the new upper intake squarely on the lower and you should be okay.

My only advice would be to be cautious about the amount of torque you put on the bolts. Remember that the upper intake is secured into metal inserts in our lousy plastic lower intake.

So you too reused the old gaskets like Jon Jon. OK, I will give it a shot and leave the old gaskets in place for what needs them!

Only thing I would add to this is make sure you line up the throttle cable right. I didn't do this and my throttle is sticking, so I need to fix this. Also make sure you are careful with the bolts to the throttle body, I stripped one of mine trying to get it off.
