C&L Plenum Install Question.......

Well the guy in the big, brown truck came today and delivered my C&L Plenum and Tri-Ax shifter!! I started installing the plenum and it went well except for the vacuum line on the rear of the intake. It is causing my throttle cable to get stuck so that it will only open the blade about 1/3 of the way. I rigged it so that the vacuum line is going under it alittle more, but I know it won't work for long. My question is: Has anyone else experienced this, and if so how in the hell did you fix it? This little item coupled to my BBK 70MM throttle body makes quite a difference. After I got done installing it along with my Tri-Ax (which was a breeze and I hear no transmission "whine") I took a short drive and WOW does this thing scream after 4000 RPMs! I actually caught rubber shifting into 4th! This is definately a great mod to get, and I have jumped onto the C&L bandwagon. I gotta give mad props to Ronnie Diaz for all the time that he put into making sure it got here as soon as possible.!

The Tri-Ax makes a world of difference too, and it makes me wonder why I didn't invest in it sooner.

I also have a 00 GT but I did not have any problems with my C&L plenum install. I ordered mine from RPM Outlet. But yes this is a great mod. I'm planning on getting an Accufab 75mm TB & C&L Trueflow inlet pipe to replace my BBK 70mm TB & UPR CAI (I have an interested buyer for the BBK). I noticed a huge difference @ ~ 3600 RPMs. I can't wait to complete my exhaust...but I got to get some all season tires. :bang: my Falken 451's won't make in the snow & ice.

i dunno if mine is different since you have a 2000 and mines 01.. but when installing my Dragon Plenum, the metal hose was shorter that the vacuum line goes into, so I was able to pull the hose another 3 inches so that it reached better... dunno if this helps

Had the same problem when I installed mine. Easy fix: First get 2 washers and put them under the 2 screws holding the linkage assembly. This should lift the cables enough to clear the vaccum line. For extra clearance, I used some black zip ties to move the hose over a bit and out of the way. If you need more clarification just let me know.

i'm having the same problem on my car...the throttle cable got stuck on the vacuum line this morning and I ended up redlining my car for 2 seconds :bang:

I just moved the vacuum line over the throttle cable and it looks like the throttle cable is no longer getting stuck on it. Is this a safe thing to do?
