Can a C&L plenum and a upgraded throttle body improve performance with the stock intake ductwork still intact? Do you have to have a cold air intake to get the most out of it? I only have K&N air filter and 40 series flowmasters for my current mods. Is it a waste of money if I dont plan on doing lots of other mods? C&L claims 9-14 hp gains then another 4 hp with upgraded throttle body. The C&L ad is in the new pro 5.0 and super fords mag. Is this worth my time and money with just the few mods I have? Does the computer need to be reprogramed?

any CAI will net very little if any. The plenum and TB are proven in the dyno tests. Gears will give you the most SOTP feeling .

i got just the plenum and didn't really notice much of a difference. i have a 70mm throttle body, maybe that why. having a cai won't give you any more noticiable difference with the plenum, although i do have a trueflow pipe on the way (and if you see my torque numbers bleow, you'll understand). i'd say the whole setup, plenum and 75mm throttle body, may be worth 5-7 rwhp on a fairly stock car.

It would be more beneficial if you at least had a K&N filter.

I am assuming your numbers are not SAE corrected unless you have every possible bolt-on + a good tune.

I have a Mac CAI feeding the Accufab 75mm TB & C&L Upper Intake Plenum. I can't say for sure whether or not the CAI helps since it was the 1st of my intake mods. But I most def saw a noticeable increase when the TB/Plenum combo was installed. W/ 4.10s I can burn rubber all the way through 2nd.

Are you saying the you couldn't burn rubber through 2nd without the TB/plenum combo?

I'd think 4.10's would take care of that.

I had the Accufab 75mm TB and C&L Plenum for a short time with the stock rubber intake tube. It still felt much stronger even with the stock tube on there. The only thing is its a PITA to get that tube to fit onto the bigger throttle body.
