I'm in the market for a strut tower brace but I'm worried about clearance. Mine seems like it sits higher than the factory boot. Does anyone have a brace with the aluminum C & L intake elbow seen below (not the upper intake but the runner from the MAF to the throttle body)? If so, what kind?

I have a friend with a Mach 1 who just recently put a strut tower brace on his car. He had a K@N CAI and had to take it off because the strut tower would'nt clear it. I guess in the directions it said you can only use the stock elbow so the strut tower can clear it. How close the Mach 1 and GT engine bay are is the only question I'm wondering.

Not specifically C&L, but I did I reply (with pics) to another recent thread about STBs and CAI clearances. Hope it helps.

Looks like Steeda is gonna be my best bet. It appears that it's got a little extra lift over around the intake compared to some others.....Thanks!

I asked the same question some time ago, and the answer I got was maximum motorsport.
That BBK CAI is totally different than the C&L tube, so I'd be hesitant in using that pic as a guide.

I contacted MM and the said their brace wouldn't work b/c of the large diameter of the C&L. I'm starting to wonder if an '03 Cobra brace would work on a GT...

STB is not really needed, more of a show piece and a PITA to remove to get to the engine

save your money for something that's worth it
