Hey all,

I am interested in dropping my 02 GT convertible while maintaining good ride quality.

Does anyone have a convertible w/ Ford C springs? these are the coil springs from the Bullitt, yes? How is the drop on your ragtop and how significant is the difference between the rear weights of a coupe and a convertible?

Thanks!

Springs

Hey dude id forget about the Ford Racing springs and call up the guys at maximum motorsports. You'll absolutely love the H&R or the Eibach springs. I dont have a convert but i'd be willing to send you picks of my 02 GT with the H&R springs.

Sorry to intrude but I just bought a vert, and also wanted to lower my car, so then verst require diff springs for lowering? Why's that???

They weigh more, and have a slightly different weight distribution as a result of the convertible top, mechanism for lowering / raising said top, and chassis stiffening applied to compensate for the lack of a roof.

Everything you've ever wanted to know about springs can be found here:

I too am toying with the idea of lowering and making my 2003 GT VERT handle better.

So far I have done a MM STB and MM Full Length SFC.
The difference is major!
Much, much tighter..

So now I am looking at springs.

I believe according to the Ford Racing catalog, the spring of choice for the Verts is the 'G Spring' .

Notice that Eibach has a special kit for Verts, which means there is a difference.
From what I can tell, the weight distribution is a little different due to the top motor and lack of a metal roof.

Also the vert comes from the factory with subframe connectors but they are short, bolt on and suck.
There is also a brace for the K-member...

Notice also that the Bullit/Mac springs are linear, not progressive.

I've been advised NOT to put the Bullit kit on the vert because it will ride like crap.
I can't say for sure but I know the Bullit ride is a lot tighter than a stock GT.

If I go for it, I will probably go with the Eibach kit and some Tokico adjustables along with the Eibach handling kit (minus the shocks)

Anyone know who makes the Shocks/Struts in the Eibach kit?

Are they any good?

Any other ideas?
