Please— someone tell me.
C4. C5 transmission pans
Are they the same?
Been all over the interweb.
Can’t get a yes or no answer.
Can only find C4’s.
They sure look the same to me.

It's been years since I've seen a C-5, but the pic shows the same pan.

Nope, not the same. A C4 has typically a " case fill" dipstick hole. A C5 has typically a "pan fill" dipstick hole. Bigger bell housing, ( due to the L/U converter) that is bolted to the case, instead of to the front pump like a weanie C4.
As for the "pan gasket".... The same.

Thank you for responding.
After much research I found the later C4 pan is exactly the same as the C5.
I ordered a new pan, and gasket today.
They changed the C4 pan not long before the C5 came out.
Took awhile, but finally found a video explaining everything

I do wish that I had saved the video that I found about this.
I’m gonna do my best to find it again, and post where to find it.
Don’t know how to “hyperlink—link—copy and post.
The old Boy had the C4 —C5 and an earlier C4 on the video.
Told the year they changed things etc.
Yes earlier C4’s were different but the later C4’s were almost like the C5.
Some internal differences
Some external—bell housing etc.
Pan—gasket, and a few other very small things the same.
Trust me on this— don’t wanna see anyone else go through the I’ve went through trying to get answers to this.
