Alright guys, I just got my C4 conversion kit from Art Carr, C4 w/brake full manual reverse pattern VB, SFI bellhousing, SFI flywheel, SFI sheild 9.5" convertor ect..... I got the AOD out already and the C4 up in place but the transmission mount doesnt line up with the crossmember? WTF??? I was told it was a direct bolt in basicly. Is there a special crossmember or adapter that I need? This is the only thing holding me up at the moment. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

It is a straight forward swap with the exception of making a crossmember brace. All I did was get a 3/8" thick piece of steel plate. Drill some hole and use it to connect the C4 mount to the crossmember mount. Real easy to do.

I installed the C4 and jacked the transmission up into place. I then installed my crossmember and took the 3/8" plate (that I had already drilled to fit the tranny mount bolts) and marked it out from the tranny to the crossemember. I then cut off the excess plate and just welded it to the the crossmember. In doing it this way I could bring the plate off the top of the crossmember flush so I didn't have a 3/8" height difference like I would have had it been bolted to the top of the crossmember. The swap is straight forward you just have to make the tranny mount.

O.K here is a pic, not the greatest, but didnt feel like jacking up the car to get a btter shot. You can see the idea.

Don't mean to OT the thread but how do you guys like your c4? Are they streetable enough for say an hour trip to the track and back?

Sure if your rear gearing is soft enough or you don't mind the increased rpms. I currently run 4.30's and the rpms are a bit to steep for a lot of extended street driving and I wouldn't even think of stepping on the express way with it. But with a set of 3.55's it would be alright.

I plan on swaping my 4:10's out for a set of 3:55's or taller here soon. :D

I just installed the C4 a few days ago and must say It does turn the R's with 4:10 and 55mph, I too will be switching them out in the near future and I've only drove the car 3 times with the C4
