C4 To T5 Trans Swap - Old Slip Yoke Doesn't Want To Fit?...

Almost done with the swap and went to test fit the driveshaft last night for length, etc - but the yoke doesn't want to go into the new transmission. Everything I have read says that the C4 and T5 both use the same 28 spline yoke.

Is it just going to be a tight fit because it is a new trans? Didn't really want to force anything, but I did wiggle and press with moderate pressure and it wasn't going to budge. It does just begin to go on - just enough that I can let go and it won't fall off, but that is it. It goes on the old C4 easily.

If I remember right the C4 yoke is much longer than the yoke that is supposed to go on the T5. They may have the same splines but when you get on the road the driveshaft will push the C4 yoke too far into the T5. When I installed my T5 I got a yoke from a junkyard that was for the T5.

Yeah, the C4 yoke is quite a bit longer than the T5 yoke, but I have read many comments from people claiming to have used their C4 yoke with their T5 conversion for years without any issues.

The thing is, this yoke won't even begin to slide into the new transmission. Went out last night to take another look at things. The drivshaft slides right into the C4 with no issues. With the T5 it feels like it gets about 1/8 of an inch, then that is it. Tried wiggling, twisting, making sure I'm going in straight, but nothing works.

Right now I just really want to test fit this driveshaft to determine how the length is going to be - I expect to have to have it shortened or to buy a new shorter one.
