C4 torque ratings

How much abuse can a c4 take? If I were to put a 1000-2000 stall converter behind a mostly stock engine would I tear it up? Im curious to know how much they are rated at.

My C4 has an 9 1/2 inch converter, 3800 rpm stall, and a transbrake- it can handle 800hp. A stock one could probably handle 300hp or so I would imagine

My stock C4 made 240ish drag passes with nothing more then a stall and shift kit. I was running 13.0's at the time

I'm running 580hp and 540ft lbs through mine.

What kind of C4 do you have? The nice ones can handle a bunch of horsepower/torque.

mine is out of a f150... umm 302 motor has the umm smaller filter?

Mine is outa a 77 f150. What they hold for power depends on what you use for parts in them. From what I've been told, the only weak link is the stock input shaft. I used a hardened one and went to a 6 pinion planetary.
