c4 trans work on 2.3?

my mustang is a 93 2.3 with a a4ld.........what is this i hear about people putting a c4 trans in..........what is needed for that? i thought a c4 was a small block trans?

a 2.3L Ford C4 bell housing can be had, but for a price. they're rare. i recently found one for my possible 4bbl 2.3L build. i'm sure the trans cross-member & driveshaft will need modifications, as well as other modification.

also, the c4 is a 3 spd tho, so your gas mileage would be hurting.

easier to buy another a4ld or do a T5 swap.
