C4 Transmission Filter Diagram?

I'm changing out my transmission filter today and notice on the last bolts I take out that there is a spring and pin that fall out from underneath one of the tabs of the filter. I think I know where the spring goes but don't know where the pin came from. Does anyone have a schematic of the filter or know where these components go?

If it helps, I just figured out the transmission is from a 70-82 Mustang. I don't think the 60s C4s had this.

The Spring and "pin" both go under the tab on the filter. The Pin goes in with the flat or "cupped" side first and the spring on top of it, and then the filter to hold it all in place.

Does the pin sit against the filter or up in the valve body? I made an executive decision yesterday, hope it was the right one.
