I currently have a 89 notch with an AOD in it and would like to keep it Auto for racing it. Would there be any advantages to switch to a C4 with a manual valve body or should i just get a manual valve body for my AOD i curently have? And just for reference i have ported intake, 1.6 rr, 3.73 gears, complete exhaust, under drives and a few other small things to distribute the weight better like AC delete and battery in the trunk.

if you drive the car at all on the road or as a daily car dont go with a c-4.i had a 86 coupe w/ a c-4 and 3.73s and 3000 stall man it sucked.now i have a 90 vert aod/4.10s and trans-go shift kit.i love it. i can drive anywhere without feeling like im overrevving and even with the 2800 stall im still getting 24 mpg city

I would keep the AOD, overdrive is a nice thing. They can be built up to handle a lot of power.

Another for the AOD. Not having overdrive will kill the fun of the car real fast on the street.

How much does a Lentech AOD run? what type of warranty does it have? I was planning on running a PA C4 due to its liftetime warranty. Thanks.
