C6 trans only has reverse gears

I have search the forum and have not seen any messages related to my problem. I recently put a 1971 Mustang Mach I back together and the trans only shifts into reverse. I have checked the linkage, adjusted the screw and lock down nut 1 1/2 turns but no forward gears. The modulator is new and the fluid is new. What have I missed? Is there a breather hole or adjustment that needs to be made?

It sounds like the forward clutches aren't engaging or are engaging loosely. It may be a stuck valve in the valve body.

Still No luck

Okay! I tried changing the fluid and filter today. I checked the linkage again and whipped everything clean and started the car. Same result, Reverse only, no forward gears. Is there any other way to figure this out?

Drop the valve body out and put air to it. Their are two rather large holes compaired to the others. Each one activats the bands/drums. Can't remember of the top of my head if you can even see the forward drum. But if it is a seal you'll here execesive leaking.You will hear a bit off leaking no matter what. Set the air at about 25 psi
