picked up a complete 68 302 (was told it was a 66 289) yesterday.

after finding the casting numbers C8OE ive come to the conclusion that it is a 1968 motor..is this correct?

the heads are C8OE 302 2V. where do i look for the "code" i know all 2v heads were 63cc chamber in 1968, i just want ot know where letter code is located.

thanks

If you're asking about a "2V" or "4V" code being cast into the head, to my knowledge only the factory '68 Mustang GT 302s with came with the "4V" casting in the area of the rocker arms.

Otherwise, all other regular 2V heads didn't have any designations cast into them other than the part number and casting dates.

It wasn't on the heads themselves. The enigne letter code was in the VIN number of the vehicle. You've got a set of C8OE 2 bbl heads, nothing else.
