posted over in the fox section to get some insite from some of the fox BB guys.

Heard back from the seller he says yes its the main caps. He also said that its just surface rust.

I guess I'll know in 2 days if this idea is gonna go somewhere

Well then you would need to buy some main caps I would get all new ones ,then have it align honed, and have the cylinders honed to,have the whole block gone through would be best,like hot tanked and so on.

Also you might what to check out these sites.

I wouldn't be to worried about emissions because I heard that starting 2009, 1996 and older cars weren't going to be emission tested. so, you might have to pass one emission test.

just put methanol in the gas tank
or
try to test it with the old motor if possible then swap it after the test

I found some flow figures for the stock E7TE fuelie heads

E7TE "Fuelie" Head

Courtesy of Scott Johnson

Unported

.100=58/42
.200=117/88
.300=174/117
.400=196/131
.500=224/137
.600=239/141
.700=247/142

You can see the exhaust needs help, but still those heads could support over 400 horsepower .

Yea in the 5.0mag its listed as 1100hp and 850ft lbs all motor. A 514 stroker though will be fun as well.

Well I heard back from the guy and He'll let me pick it up. Unless someone else gets it or I don't remember to bid which I doubt only way that will happen is if I'm sleeping. I'll have a 460 block to play with. i'm really excited. This has been a crazy idea of mine since my stock motor started knocking. If or when I get it I'll post pics.

Was telling my bro in law and the other maint. guy my idea and they kept saying it won't fit you'll have to cut the shock towers out and move the fire wall back. I was lke no you don't I've seen an sn95 with a 460 in it already. Wish I could find that pic.

Mystery.... does your state do a visual test? If so, you're shot already with a big block. Some states have rules that engines older than the model year of the vehicle can't be used, so that might get ya too. Sounds like your best bet may be to put very few miles on it if you go the BB route. It's something I've thought about in the past, but it would only be a drag car and not my DD. Good luck and let's see some pics when you get it up and going!

They made 460's into the 90's, up to 96,I just looked it up. It will fit,it fits in the fox bodies,there has even been guys stuff them in little ranger trucks. You might be able to use the fox motor mounts and headers also.

Check out this link.

It will be a while till its up and running but will def post pics of the progress

well I got outbid. I kept checking up on it I think I had 12 min last I checked and was still winning. I was like why haven't I gotten an email yet so I look and the auction is over and the guy got it for 75.99. I just got the email saying I was outbid after the damn auction is over. Kinda mad but kinda not. Guess this one just wasn't ment to be. Maybe its a way of telling me that block was junk of well just keep looking I guess

Yea I hate that about ebay always have people wait to outbid you at the very last few seconds so you can't outbid them. There is usually though quite a few 429/460 shortblocks or blocks on ebay.

yeah the guy has a bunch of motors he's selling. what would rock is if he emailed me and was like hey I got this and will give it to ya for this price. doubt it would happen but ya never know. I'm already back on there looking. Might ask around a few local junkyards and see if I can get a deal as well

Should be able to,people are always scrapping motors as well for extra cash seems like you could get one fairly cheap if you looked. I was looking on ebay to, typed in 460 block and found like 3 in a matter of minutes.
