CAI blowing noise

Like it says. I got an e-bay cold air intake, and love it. Sounds good and really helped with throttle response. But now there is a blowing noise that i can hear when i drive it. It shuts off as i slow down or when i give it gas but just cruising and sometimes idling i can hear it. Is this normal due to the air blowing into the straight metal tubing? there are no leaks, everything is tight.

A sucking or blowing noise is normal with a CAI.

if its a whistle then the inlet pipe is not lined up propperly. otherwise its just the sound of the air going into the filter.

Yeah all two HP maybe. No everyone says the CAI doesn't do much but mine made a huge difference, for what it is.

I got a very nice gain from my home made cai when I had my ported E7 combo.

One of my favorite gain for the buck spent mods no matter what ...........

Which one did you end up getting off Ebay? The 30$ ones?

I thought about it since I can't fathom spending 160$ for a brand name but didn't think the Ebay ones would fit right.

when i bought my cold air off ebay i had to do some minor modding to it. but other than that it fit just fine.

The sound is normal, and even if the gain is mininal if any IMO it looks better than the stock box.
