I bought a CAI from proparts on ebay. Everything fitted together great but I have one problem. There is no place for my IAT. I was considering making a hole in the tube. Anyone who has experience please help. If I am going to have to install it I need to know how far in and any other tips you all have. Thank you

Yea you have to drill a hole in the CAI intube for the sensor. I put some RTV around the sensor to keep it in place.

CAI on a lightly modded car won't give you much gains over a drop-in K&N other than "bling factor". What did you pay on ebay for the CAI? K&N Drop-in is $50 almost anywhere you buy it.

I know this is stating the obvious... but if you drill a hole in the intake make sure the tube isnt on the car when you do so. Metal shavings sucked into the engine is no good, haha.

DONT DRILL THE HOLE JUST YET! You happen to be ina very good situation :nice: . Its called relocating the IAT so that it avoids being "heatsoaked" and giving false temperatre readings to the EEC...which inturn pulls timing out of the engine. Some may say that this isnt a good idea, but I have done it, as well as numerous others...Randy (a parts manager for Ford...also has a fast N/A GT...And his own sub forum on modular depot) will even tell you that its a good mod. This doesnt trick your sensor, just gives it the true ambient temperature...and I noticed a big improvement. \

Shoot me a PM and ill tell you exactly how to do it as well as some pics.

Well I have before if im not mistaken.

A. It just gets lost and noone cares, then I have to explain what to do when you have an 02-04 GT with the IAT incorperated in the MAF, and how to wire all that up, where to get the parts ect.

B.That will make the post EXTREMELY long and noone will read it.

C. PM is vehicle specific, and I can PM the information when I have the chance...Tonight or maybe tommorow.

D. I know the person isnt going to run off and drill the hole if they took the time to PM me about it.

E. I could post the information and 2 minutes later she posts, "Well just drilled the hole, wasnt too hard, and the car runs fine. Thanks for you help everyone!" And the thread will die and noone will search when they have this problem, and thus continues the never ending cycle.

 that make sence? :rlaugh: See, i have my reasons HAHA. But good call and thanks for pointing that out :D
