The air filter is inside the fenderwell, draws in cooler air and then moves in. If you want proof it's colder air, after driving for 45 minutes, I stuck my hand on the intake and it was very cold.

All that proves is some basic science. When you pull air through the intake, it lowers in pressure, and when it lowers in pressure, it lowers in temperature.

The CAI does pick up air that is a little cooler than the stock airbox draws in, but we're talking a small difference. To really cool the intake charge, you can use an icebox like the drag racers use!

honestly guys, it draws air from the same spot. On my car theres a lon funnel reaching into the fender. What this kit does is actually remove the restriction of that fu8nnel allowing the whole filter to breathe. The temperature difference doesnt exist, for ythe mustang it merely removes a restriction.

It does too, and I like it too much, my gas card knows. I actually got asked if I had a turbo because of the sound. Sadly I could only laugh and say no, because there's no way I could ever back that. But yeah, it's true it isn't colder air, but it is less restrictive, ALOT less if you have a fram =(. But if you remove the silencer you start getting some engine air...at idle. Once you move, the hot air doesn't follow.
