Look for a JLT or similar that takes air from inside the fenderwell or don't bother.

And I think that $89 CAI is the same $50 ebay one.

Probably. It is also the same as the free one that comes with the car.

Nah, for $50 I am tempted to get the eBay one for the looks. I know it won't increase power.

Maybe 1-2hp or 3-4 if combined with a plenum/tb combo. But maybe not even that.

I need a bigger E-Penis.

Best bang for the buck = K&N filter and a removed air silencer.

This and a larger MAF with a tune = noticeable power gain.

You don't need a larger MAF. The OE MAF is not a restriction on a normally aspirated car.

To answer your other question, the silencer is located on the airbox and sticks into the fenderwell through an access hole in the fender liner. It looks like this:

(NOTE: Shown is a Mach 1 setup. The opening in the airbox on a GT actually faces the passenger side fender...) The silencer itself, what the guy is holding above, is pliable rubber and slips into place in the airbox.

It already does a good job of pulling cooler air from the fenderwell but can sap a horsepower or two due to minor flow restriction.

You sir have been misinformed. I'm not going to get into a pissing match over it however, the MAF is the most restrictive portion of the intake track, it is that way by design. If you get a larger MAF a larger amount of air is free to flow to the intake (PENDING YOUR TUNE) the MAF sensor will register that additional air and make the necessary adjustment to supply additional fuel. Bottom line ... More Air + More Fuel = More Power

(If you do not have the car tuned and install a larger MAF, you will have no power gains and WILL damage your engine.)

Look for something like this - http://www.dallasmustang.com/product.php?productid=18455

Bull. The 80mm OE MAF is simply not a restriction to the sort of airflow a normally aspirated 2V will generate. I'm sorry but this:

is not going to be a restriction at 230rwHP.

The MAF is bigger then the throttle body. How can it possibly be a restriction?

Ok so by your logic, as long as the oil pressure seems "normal", it means that there is nothing wrong with a motor (like you stated on another thread). Now you're saying that an oversized MAF will improve performance on a stock heads/cams 4.6...........?

You, sir, have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

BTW, trinity gt knows his about modular motors. Arguing with him just looks stupid.
