Calibration tube

The ProM meters come calibrated for your requested injector size and air inlet configuration. The C&L meters use different 'inserts' to allow adaptation for different injector sizes. You can also use a chip/tweecer to tell the ecu that you have different size injectors, and stick with a factory calibration on the meter.

Do you need a Calibration tube if you buy a Mass Air Meter?

For Example:

Your example shows a C&L meter. C&L meters use calibration tubes that "Trick" the computer into thinking it it getting more/less air flow. C&L are the only ones who use sampling tubes for recalibration. They do not seem to be as stable or as accurate as the Pro-M meters which are calibrated to your specific size injector and aspiration.
