California Legal H or X pipe...

My stock H pipe is broken so im want to get an after market pipe. Im also tired of the tree catalyc converters, so whats a good pipe that will pass the California sniffer test?

none, there arent any that will pass a legit visual. if you want, find a smog referee and see what they say. the magnaflows are CARB approved and you might be able to get the ref to say that your cats are defective.

it's a 96. Isnt there an 8 year thing or something? It's been 8 years and the pipe is broken due to the transmission blowing up.

you're good there, no matter the time, as long as the cats are damaged or clogged they can be replaced.

that is the only time it's actually legal to change them out.

To make it legal however, the new cats must mount in the same location as the previous cats.

as far as passing a sniff test, I'd find someone with an aftermarked catted h or x...and ask them how they passed...there is always a way!
