installed the cobra brake kit, and my passenger side caliper bracket snapped in two. i was just doing an easy stop from maybe 45mph, and i heard a funny noise from my brakes, and a second later, my car was skidding to a stop, with the bracket seized inbetween my rotor and rim, with one end of the bracket hooked on my spindle.

got in touch with ford racing, and they said in all the years theyve been doing business, theyve never seen a caliper bracket break, and ive never even heard of it. BUT, mine did. ive been working with them for almost two weeks between emails and phone calls and sending pictures, but now they want me to send them the peices so they can inspect them.

i also called speedconcepts.net, where i got the kit from, and i got told in a snotty voice that it was probably user error. ive done all kinds of brakes, and its not a hard job. but anyway...

i need my car back on the road, and i can either wait to see what ford racing wants to do, or i can pay the stealership 97 bucks for a bracket, because i cant find anywhere on line that sells just the bracket.

has anybody heard of anything like this? does anyone know where i can find just a bracket? none of the junk yards have cobras around here either.

and i will never never never never never do business with speedconcepts.net again. he told me 2-5 days on the phone, after 2 weeks i called, and called, and called. two times a day, with messages, just asking for a call to let me know what was going on. i called for a month, and never got a reply. took me about 2 months to finally get them, with the wrong brake hoses lol.

This is the rear bracket?

Do you still have the stock one you can throw on with the stock size rotor for now?

I unfortunatly just brought my stock stuff to the dump 2 weeks ago...

Wow... caliper bracket broke? Sorry to hear that.

Was the front or rear?

I'll see if I can find something around here.

i understand it sucks, but you need to understand that this is a very unusual problem and ford has every right to question the validity of the problem.

i don't understand how the bracket got wedged in between the wheel. crazy stuff, can we get pics?

hope everthing works out ok.
